About the job

PRST is hiring a licensed journeyman electrician for a solar construction crew on large utility-scale ground-mount sites near Littleton, NH. This is a field leadership role: you will pull and terminate DC and medium-voltage AC wiring from the array to the interconnect, install and commission the major equipment, and hold the line on code and safety alongside the civil and mechanical crews.

Pay: $50/hr. Per diem: $125/day for anyone who lives more than 60 miles from the job site. Full-time hours (40 a week) with overtime potential, on a steady project pipeline.

The work:

  • Pull, route, terminate and splice DC and MV/AC wiring from the array to combiners, inverters and transformers
  • Mount and wire string and central inverters, combiner boxes, disconnects, and grounding and surge protection
  • Measure, cut, bend and install underground and rack-mounted conduit (EMT, PVC or rigid)
  • Work from single-line diagrams, site electrical plans and engineering drawings
  • Run insulation resistance tests, polarity checks, voltage and amperage checks, and grid interconnections
  • Enforce the NEC, OSHA standards and site safety rules, and mentor apprentices

You need:

  • An active New Hampshire journeyman electrician license
  • OSHA 10
  • Thorough working knowledge of NEC Article 690 and the PV and storage sections
  • Experience on utility-scale or large commercial solar installations
  • Insulation resistance, polarity and voltage/amperage testing experience
  • To be comfortable leading a crew and mentoring apprentices
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to remote sites
  • To work outdoors in all weather, walk large sites and lift up to 50 lbs

Medium-voltage terminations and grid interconnect experience are a plus.
