PeopleReady Skilled Trades is hiring welders for a long-term project in the Saginaw, MI area. Travelers welcome. All levels - your rate is set by an on-site weld test and interview.
Pay & per diem:
- $22.60-$33/hr depending on experience and the weld test
- $130/day per diem, paid for days worked
- Expect 50-70 hours a week
- Weekly pay
The work: manufacture components from blueprints and Welding Procedure Specifications. All four primary processes on site: GMAW (MIG), FCAW (flux-core), GTAW (TIG), SMAW (stick), plus oxy-fuel, carbon arc, and plasma cutting.
Levels:
- Level I (under 1-2 years): knows the basics - weld symbols, positions, machine settings, PPE
- Level II (2+ years): works to WPS with minimal supervision, solid in at least one process
- Level III (5+ years): expert in at least one process, layout and measuring, troubleshoots equipment, low rework
Shifts:
- Day: Mon-Fri 6:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Night: Mon-Thu 4:15 PM-4:45 AM (shift differential)
- Weekend: Fri-Sun 5:00 AM-5:00 PM (shift differential)
Requirements: HS diploma or GED, able to lift 50 lbs, background check and drug screen, pass the weld test.
